I've been going to Novita for about a decade. The food is not great, but it's consistently good. You know what you're gonna get. Service from Arthur, the wait staff, is amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, and professional at all times.
There is not much of an ambiance there but at least it's quiet to have lunch and chat there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 31, 2023
As someone who lives in Markham, I am so late to the party. To be completely honest, I've only been to Novita 2-3 times since it's opened. I don't know why. It's a perfectly decent casual dining restaurant with reasonable prices and comfortable seating.
I was able to try their Christmas menu and a variety of other dishes as I went in a small group. Surprisingly, the protein was the most impressive part. The 12oz steak for $48 was grilled perfectly at a tender medium rare. The veal was juicy with a delicious sauce. The risotto was also tasty. Portions were quite generous. Strangely enough, the disappointment of the night was the pizza which was not great. Weird that an Italian family style restaurant excelled at the steak and fumbled with the pizza, but I probably prefer it that way than the other way around. Dessert was Cheesecake Factory and a panna cotta. Both were fine.
Highlight for me was the lovely service. We had a sweet server who was very friendly and accommodating. Definitely made it a pleasant dinner experience.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 9, 2023
It was my anniversary that day. My husband took me here to celebrate this special day for us. We haven't dined out for a while, since my pregnancy.
We love this restaurant that it has outdoor dining table. He made a reservation, and we requested to sit outdoor. The restaurant was not open for the patio that night because there should have got rain at night. However, it didn't, and we asked for it. The waiter opened it up right away. We picked a table, then he set it up for us quick. The waitress bright us the menu took a while, and we have no idea what to order. They have a set menu that includes 3 courses. We ordered one set (Lobster soup, Fish of the day, Pana Cotta), then side order a chicken Entress (Pollo Milano) with pasta.
We pretty enjoyed the whole meal and the Romantic time. There was a bit waiting time that might need to mention, I think we were the only table outside, and inside was a bit busier, so we need to wait until the waitress had time to check on us. We also need to mention the waitress was nice to confirm with kitchen all food that we ordered were no alcohol inside.
I would definitely like to be back again this restaurant.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jul 26, 2022
Decided to try this place as I always see on driving past highway 7 and always wondered how this place is. Came here yesteday on a Tuesday night, it was pretty dead, there was only 3 tables seats in the entire restaurant.
We were seated promptly and given our menus and our server came back pretty quick to introduce himself and tell us our specials.
We ordered the calamari to start, rack of lamb and the chicken spaghetti.
The calamari was disappointing as it there wasn't much taste and the "house aioli sauce" didn't really have much taste.
The rack of lamb was delicious and the sauce was good and made medium rare as I would like it.
As far as the pasta, it was good as well but didn't stand out.
We saw a table who came after us get complimentary bread before ordering and meanwhile my and my boyfriend just sat there until our appetizer came. We decided to ask our server if we were getting any complimentary bread to start as well and was told that someone else was suppose to bring it to us.
Overall, food was ok and service was good.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 19, 2023
Waitress was a sweetheart...food was awesome...large portions...if you go away hungry from here ...we'll forget it you won't.... I had the pasta for fajoli and ravioli. Both were excellent. My wife had the beet salad and the mushrooms, and she loved them...would definitely go back again. Only reason it is not a 5 is they we're definitely understaffed...2 waiters for the whole restaurant....at one point the chef was seating customers.

Food: It's good, not perfect though. Today was the first time I was here and I chose the first pasta option in the pasta section. It's like seafood linguine in asiago cream sauce. The scallops were quite old, as I could tell by how soft and weak they were, shrimps, not gonna judge them because I am not a fan of shrimps, other stuff, tasty. Calamari was well fried, but nit enough decoration for 18 dollars.. Desert, had the White Chocolate crackers whatever it's called. That was great, not much of any white chocolate taste though, crackers were stuffed with risotto cheese (I think what was what the waitress said), it was pretty much normal cheese from cheesecakes. Overall, food was like a 3/5
Service: The waitress really cares, but was just a little late on reaching to your table. Food came quite fast. After I ordered the White Chocolate cracker thingy, I forgot ti ask about nuts (I was allergic). She came back to save the day. I asked about any info of nuts in the dessert. She looked surprised and concerned, and she'd walked towards the kitchen. She came back and happily said no. Really cared us.
Ambiance: There wasn't really any people in the restaurant. I would say 1/4 of the restaurant was occupied. Lack of TVs, decor was fine.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 26, 2023
This is probably my favourite Italian place in the east end. Been going to Novita since they opened years ago. Always leave happy. Always get their minestrone or pasta fagioli soups. In addition to having an extensive menu, they are willing to customize their dishes. I usually alternate between the veggie pastas and pizzas.

Best take-out Italian place! If you're looking for some good Italian food, reasonably priced and generous portion, then this is the place! They are offering 20% off for pick up which is a really good deal!
Here are my ratings for the dishes that we ordered:
1) Shrimp, Scallop Risotto - this was by far the best dish...so flavourful with lots of shrimps and scallops! 5 stars
2) Seafood linguine - Good variety of seafood included mussels, clams, shrimps and calamari. It needed a bit more sauce but it was still good. 3.5 stars
3) Veal Marsala - this came with a really good Ceasar salad. However it was really really salty...it was probably an accident but I doubt that I would try it again. 3 stars
Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and we'll definitely be ordering from here again.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jenelle C.East York, Canada152503932Apr 23, 2022
Service was great. We had a pretty large group and the staff were very accommodating to all the requests we made.
The food was also pretty good. Not the best Italian food I've ever had but I did enjoy my dinner. I got a fettuccine chicken dish with rose sauce. My boyfriend got a pizza which wasn't the greatest.
Something I really enjoyed was, for the price, the portion servings were pretty good in comparison to other Italian spots.
It's really out of the way from where I live so would I venture out to come here? Probably not. But if someone really to dine in here, I wouldn't mind.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 27, 2020
Solid Italian food. I came here with some colleagues for a work lunch during February around the time of valentine's day. They had some kitschy valentine's day decorations hanging around and a special valentine's day menu with a set 3 course meal as well.
I asked the waiter what he recommended and that's how I ended up ordering the salmon scallops and shrimp linguine Asiago sauce. It was delicious and extremely creamy and heavy. Put me right to sleep. But it was good! My colleagues ordered salads and spaghetti and it didn't look good compared to my meal. Service was okay - I ordered a tea and they completely forgot it. In terms of vibe - it's not really a fancy place and it's almost really easy to miss on the outside as I've driven by this place many times but I didn't realize it was there all along. I would come back just for that linguine.
To rate it on a spectrum, way better than your Boston pizza or Kelsey's pasta's but definitely not the best Italian place I've ever had. Like they definitely don't make their pasta fresh but they give you really big portions and it's decently tasty.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
